Hairdresser & Beauty Therapist
Old school trained City & Guilds qualified in hairdressing, wig making, beauty therapy, electrolysis and a number of additional certificates whilst at college full time, I had a thorough education. I worked in a beauty salon during college part time and then full time upon graduating.
After 2 years I worked as a beauty therapist on cruise ships, with extra training for specific product treatments, it was an experience! Great to do in my early 20's, unfortunately the workload and hours gave me a repetitive strain injury and I had to rethink my career after 3 years.
Working in other sectors, pub and restaurant, office work related to merchandising, I realised I was missing out on what I really enjoyed and became self employed working mobile so that I was in control of my workload and time and could manage my RSI. I was mainly hairdressing doing mobile though and still not fulfilling my work balance, plus having children I needed something more guaranteed and secured a job helping my dad build his business, learning something new, I always wanted to work for my dad and follow in his footsteps, but back then being a girl in engineering was just not something I could have coped with - as I write this I'm reminded again of my manifestation skills! I KNEW and wanted to work for my dad and I achieved this eventually, I've always known subconsciously that I have abilities!
Fast forward to 2009, this is when I purchased my first domain thecompleteyou.co.uk, when I first had the idea, already planning to get back into my beauty side, thinking of an online space, like a magazine full of information and tips, not pushing products or selling anything, just feeding my need to use all the training and knowledge I'd learned and helping people. Even looked into buying a business that was already running (which is also where I discovered Temple Spa), then I got made redundant as the business closed and began again doing mobile hair and beauty.
Mobile wasn't fulfilling for me, I felt like something was lacking and I couldn't offer people what they needed, not really, I visualised a place for people to visit, somewhere relaxing and calm but not a salon, more like a sanctuary, and I created my beauty room at home that extended to the garden surrounding it too. My son helped me with the interior of the summer house and I landscaped the garden area myself - it was quite the achievement for me and a job that was actually fully completed! Pictured above, it was beautiful and exactly what I needed it to be, this was in 2014 and something I'm really proud of (unfortunately it doesn't look like that now, renovations and revamping are needed). The beauty room is now inside the house, pictured elsewhere on the website amongst the text.
Like many other businesses, mine suffered after 2020 lockdown and never fully recovered, luckily I had a second job working behind the bar at a local working men's club (also closed and made redundant again!). I'm not defeated though, I believe everything happens for a reason and I used my time wisely learning and developing new skills!
My Spiritual Side
It's always been there, always felt protected in some way, when I've really wanted something or rather felt deserving or a calling maybe, I've got there, I've achieved, I've manifested it - it's only now that I look back and see this, at the time it was hard, felt impossible, the struggle was real!
I've always had good intuition, just known things without really taking much notice of how. I'm not really academically clever, it's a miracle that I passed my beauty therapy exams to be honest, coursework I'm good with but I get a block under pressure with time limits and forcing information out of my head. I'm sure I had "help" and no I didn't cheat. My intuition has served me well when I've trusted it, subconsciously going with the flow and believed in myself. Unfortunately when we are young we tend to listen to others, our peers, our parents, our husband, and trust in them more - I see so much now I'm more awakened!
My reawakening started during the first lockdown, I finally had the opportunity for total peace, following a few losses, including my children leaving home, it was a very difficult time, but one of opportunity too. After a reading I paid for via email, she wrote that I should use a pendulum, and there it began, my intentional spiritual journey in April 2020. I did a few online courses:

I have only got half way through the Scrying course as this was more for curiosity and I've since started a Spiritual Life Coaching one too. It was mainly the Crystal Healing that I wanted as addition to my Hair and Beauty but the card reading has really taken off and I've discovered a whole new side to my ability in reading energy. My readings are more like therapy, not fortune telling, after all, the future is not set in stone, things can change with the choices we make, however, what's meant for us will never pass us by either.
The jewellery making is a continuation of my Crystal Healing, I find having something physical to touch can really help people focus their own energy for healing, it's not easy understanding the unseen. I show people how to put their own intention on the crystals to reaffirm their use and what they are needed for specifically.
Since November 2024 I have been working for a Psychic Chat line doing Tarot readings for many people world wide, I wasn't sure how it would work for me as I've never felt strongly psychic, in fact I refuse to call myself one, we can all have abilities, intuition, and develop it, I just consider myself spiritual and learning - I play it down a lot and can be quite humble, still surprises myself when I'm picking up the situation and giving valuable help to those needing it. I've learned a lot about myself over the last 5 years. I will be posting my online profile content on my blog, they updated it and I didn't like it as it wasn't me, not at all, they refused to change it and after several emails they agreed to let me reword it to sound more like me. Still had to keep their lengthy idea though.
At present I am in the process of manifesting something BIG, the biggest thing I've ever manifested, once this comes to fruition, there will be no stopping me helping others to see their own potential for creating the life they want. I can only help those that want to be helped, it all comes from within, within each individual, as does healing.
